With the current weather being positively Autumnal recently I took a break from working on my mini bedroom makeover and picked up another project I've had on the go for a while now. As you can see from the photo above I've swapped painting for needle craft as I'm trying to complete a memory quilt for my daughter in time for her birthday.
So far I've made 12 rosettes from my daughters clothes that she's out grown, but I am intending on making 26 in total. I've been following the instructions for The Queen of Crafts Flower Power Quilt by Jazz Domino Holly. This book is a lovely addition to a creative's library and is full of various projects from cooking to gardening and preserving to sewing.
So far I am proud of what I've created. I've seen a number of quilts made from squares but as I am making rosettes by hand my daughter's may well be taking far longer to create but it will be a unique labour of love.
The other day someone was giving away batting on Freegle so I jumped in the car and went to get it. I'll add this to the quilt once I've finished the rosettes and add a backing too. Time will tell whether or not I will be able to complete this project on time for her birthday but I'm hopeful.
Have you got projects on the go for a deadline? Be it for Christmas or something else, I'd love to hear about it.
