This week my word of the week is:
Having been cooped up most of the day on Christmas Eve I thought it would be lovely to take the girls to the Christmas Eve Mass at the village church. As we set off to the church we saw other people coming out of their houses and heading along the path too. Many of whom soon passed us having been behind us (little ones sure do walk really slowly!) so when we arrived at the church we were welcomed with the sound of singing and the place was packed.
It was so packed that they had to open up the balcony to accommodate us all. My youngest sat on my lap and fell asleep after a bottle of milk, while her big sister decided to run riot around the church and appeared on stage a few times! Fortunately it was a family service.
I hoped that my hubby would have popped in but when we returned home we discovered he’d gone to bed after work! Next year I will have two possibly running about!
I told hubby that my aim was to be in bed before midnight that night but this didn't happen due to wrapping presents! Next year I will get him to wrap the youngest’s and I’ll wrap the eldest’s so we won’t spend so long on the task.
When Christmas Day rolled around my eldest by passed the presents and headed straight for the fridge for refreshment! I had imagined she’d be more enthusiastic about Christmas but she’s only a couple of months off being 2.
We spent Christmas Day with the family and then headed to a local village hall to see friends. My father was due to play their Father Christmas but he had a cold so ruled himself out of the proceedings. The girls were lucky to receive gifts from a stand in Father Christmas and were given a bath toy and baby toy. However, it came to light that my eldest was actually destined an elf instead of the bath toy! So guess who will be doing a Christmas Eve basket and Advent with the Elf next year!
The rest of this week has seen us watch too much CBeebies and getting out very little!
How was your week?
