Things I've Liked and Loved in August

How can it be the end of the month already?! Looking back through the photos we've taken it is clear to me that we've been enjoying a variety of things. From arts and crafts to getting outside and reveling in all that the great British countryside has in store for us. So grab your favourite refreshing drink and settle back for a recap of what we've been up to this month.

Finger Painting on an Old Canvas

First up we have arts and crafts. We enjoyed messing about with finger paints on an old canvas in the garden and have even managed to inspire the lovely creative Thimble and Twig family to have a go at this activity. It was such a lovely surprise to be picked out as her favourite from the fortnight.

Finishing the Series in Banbury

Secondly we decided to take advantage of the weather and headed north of the county to finish the series in Banbury which we started last month. Having only one car leads to a lot of cabin fever if we aren't careful so we try and get out of the house as much as we can and it's even better if we have a day outside enjoying each other's company and taking in our surroundings.

It's Starting to Look a Lot Like Autumn

Talking of our surroundings it's starting to look a lot like Autumn out there. From the mushrooms on the ground that may or may not be edible (best ask Kippers and Curtains for her advice) to picking apples and plums at Grandmas. My girls love fruit and will get through a punnet a day if they are allowed.

A Mop to Clear Any Mess Up

Thankfully we were also sent a mop to clear any mess up. I'm so pleased that our downstairs isn't carpeted thus making it so much easier to clean than worrying about the state of a carpet.

Making our House a Home

Oh and we shared a bit of our house with you readers. I think the summer is a great time to declutter ready for the winter festivities and for making room for all those Christmas presents you might get.

Well that's it from me for another month. How has your month been?

  1. Sad to see another summer gone. I hate the days getting shorter! The painting is a bit of a masterpiece bless her, I remember doing this with my children x
